According to reports, Rusmon Pineda and a barangay tanod were arrested for selling PhP 136,000 worth of shabu.
A man who identified himself as the brother of Journey frontman Arnel Pineda was arrested for possessing 30 grams of shabu amounting to PhP 136,000 in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City.
According to a report made by Quick Response Team of GMA News TV, the two suspects were Rusmon Pineda and Rojimar Frilles, a barangay tanod from Barangay Sacred Heart.
Police Captain Nazarino Emia of QCPD Station 10 revealed that they've been observing Rusmon's illegal activities for quite some time before proceeding with the operations at Barangay Obrero on Tuesday, October 6.
“'Yung mga previous na nahuli namin, lumalabas po na isa sa mga source nila ay ito nga pong si Rusmon Pineda po,” he said.
The younger Pineda refused to give a statement to the press.
Meanwhile, Rojimar denied knowing of Rusmon's unlawful activities citing that he only gave him a ride on his motorcycle as an act of kindness because he is a "public servant."
